In addition to the wiki-based Keywords Collaboratory and the website devoted to the edited collection, we occasionally host a discussion forum on the Keywords Blog. On our blog, you’ll find a few complete essays from the volume that you can read and discuss with others, sometimes including the essays’ authors. While collaboration is central to the work we see emerging from Keywords for American Cultural Studies, contestation around those terms is also important for opening up rather than shutting down dialogue about the multiple genealogies and the differing and contradictory uses of those keywords. If there is a particular term you would like to see appear in the blog, please let us know.

In March 2008, two contributors to Keywords for American Cultural Studies spoke at Fordham University. On March 3, Brent Hayes Edwards spoke at an event sponsored by the Department of African and African American Studies, the Program in American Studies, and other programs. Later in the month, on March 27, Vijay Prashad spoke as part of a series of events related to Jhumpa Lahiri’s novel The Namesake.

Participants in these events were able to read the speakers' full keyword essays online before they came to campus, and then to respond to the essays in the Keywords Forum blog both before and after their lectures. You can see the results by clicking the links below

If you are inviting someone who has contributed to Keywords for American Cultural Studies to speak, and you'd like to set up such an advance discussion in order to provoke interest and produce a better-informed audience, please e-mail mailto:keywords@fordham.edu and we will work with you to make this possible.
